Im wanting to go over to Bankhead for the weekend and was hoping to do some climbing. I don't have and trad gear and was wondering how easy a top rope set up would be. Is there fairly easy access to the top of the bluffs? Thanks

There are very few established routes in the Bankhead, but with that said, toproping is a possibility. It should be noted that there is No climbing or rappelling allowed on the bluffs on the Borden Creek trail (at least the ones right next to the trail). You will need long slings or a static rope to set up top ropes from trees. I would encourage rapping and cleaning/ removing loose blocks from anything you try to climb out there. Expect everything to need some cleaning. There are some nice lines along the Thompson Creek trail awaiting a first ascent.

Thanks. We ended up just hiking but I'm gonna have to go back and climb. The rock looks amazing.

Give me a holler if you ever want to climb out there. I live in the area and a have a few good lines scouted out.
