Sooo I have been out of climbing for two months now because of this pain. It is the top part of my forearm about right in the middle.. It sucks.. Came on kind of gradually and I was a dummy and kept climbing on it for a couple weeks.. Until it got bad (hurt doin basic things around the house). I have let it rest now for a couple months.. Done massages and stretches.. And I am thinking about starting some light rehab but I am hesitant because I still feel it at times when I am doing basic chores etc.. I have had climbers elbow and a messed up pulley has kept me from climbing for a year and now this. I am bummed. I know I should have stopped as soon as I felt it, but it came on as just a sort of pumped feeling.. Looking for advice.. I wanna climb again..

Did I miss the part about where you said you saw a doctor?

really? you think so? ugh geez.. do you have any knowledge about the specfic issue or you think that I should just do it in order to be safe? the pain is less frequent and not as strong.. it feels like a kind of achey fatigue almost..

I think that seeing a doctor is waaaay better than an Internet diagnosis. Ask climbers climbing questions, ask doctors medical questions.

Edit: People ask medical questions frequently on here, so you're not the only one who does that.

Medical student here. There are several things that could cause pain in that area. See a doctor and get a diagnosis, then come back and ask for advice. We'll be able to help you out more once you know what's going on.

Can you do reverse wrist curls with your opposite hand providing resistance ? How about reverse forearm curls using same method without too much pain?

yea I can.. do both without pain.. it feels like I often just get almost extra pumped quickly when climbing with that arm

I used this when I had the same issue and now use it as preventative maintenance.  There's different difficulties and that site has them at about half of what I paid.

Please see a healthcare provider. I recommend a physical therapists.  There are a few possibilities but a diagnosis or course of treatment can't be established without some objective findings from a provider.

What specific activities or movements hurt? What makes it better?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
