^^ You're right; he is contradicting himself.

"Sure, but you can't deny that steel biners for the masterpoint isn't going to keep your rope, and hence your hands, cleaner. We've proven that with what we've done in our guide service and have seen ropes and hands stay measurably cleaner since making the transition."

Translate:
1. You can deny that steel biners will keep your rope and hands cleaner.
2. Through their guide service, they have proven that you can deny that steel biners will keep your rope and hands cleaner.
3. Since proving that you can deny that steel biners will keep your rope and hands cleaner, their hands have been much cleaner, scientifically cleaner.

Grammar is awesome.

Bruh, like, my hands are changing color. There's, like, something really wrong here, man.

I really don't care if my hands are clean or not. I'm thinking steel biners will just last longer. Simple as that. No need to obfuscate the issue.

Obfu-wha?

My word of the day calendar broke last year.

Have you been watching OddSquad?

(Harmless fun, yo)

TRoper,

I thought I was clearing up those bad sentences, but public service isn't always appreciated.

Michael,

Nice try. Still problematic. We get what you mean though.

Obfuscate = to confuse, obscure, or render unclear.

My asking about steel biners was not because I want to keep my hands clean. I figured they would be more durable for extensive top roping.

its effing fine

use two cheap round stock lockers at the top ... how "hardcore" a toppu roperu tofu guy are you anyways ....

how much banging does it take to wear out TWO biners? ... you replace em every few years unless yr a guide

stop overthinking a very basic TR setup ... and better yet learn off experienced REAL LIFE folks, not the intrawebz forumz for basic safety skillz

KISS

Why thank you there T ROPAH for your intrawebz "advice"

No doubt its from personal experience of you putting kiddie groups on those biners and telling em to "be hardcore"

Keychain biners and demanding folks get hurt in the gym

Oh dear little one ....

Who the fuck are you? Why are you posting in this thread? Go shove a biner up your rectum and lock it off on your colon, sir. I'm not overthinking anything, you're the one taking a dump in my thread, which asked a pretty simple yes/no question. And then you have the chockstones to come in here and take a swing at me?

P.S. wanna climb sometime? I'll belay first. ;)

Awww poor babbiiii ....

If you asked ANYONE who climbs a decent amount in real life ... You would get thr answer in 30 sec

It doesnt matter one whit if you use aluminum or steel for weekend toppu roperu bangahz

Now if yr a guide or a company that takes groups if bangahz out daily thats a different story

Just like "your" rope thread the answer is simple ... It doesnt really matter

But some folks just need to kill themselves over it

Learn how to bang fron a real live banger

Steel lockers are still a good idea for toproping.

Heres a simple question anyone should be able to answer

What piece of climbing gear wears out the fastest and is replaced the most often .... Especially in a lower angle moderate climbing toppu roperu banging situation

Basically with the amount you climb yr worrying about spending 15 dollahz every decade for 2 lockers on yr gnarly top rope adventures

Vs 100$+ on a climbing rope every few years ????

And were not even working in biner rotation here which any experienced banger would

Gotta run to the plastic pulling gnarl fest ... Ill be sure to count the kids that break legs as they didnt meet yr "hardcore" standards

From last week ...

This is da shiet bangaz should be looking out for ... Not steel biners

;)
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
