Enchanted Tower in Feb?

I have a rare chance (for me) to take a road trip in February. I'm thinking of checking out Enchanted Tower since I've never been, and it's listed as "the home to the best sport climbing in the state" according to Mountain Project. The weather forecast for the area looks very climbable for me (day time temp between 40 and 50 degrees). However, I saw mention of snow covered road that makes access improbable. For anyone in the know, how likely is Enchanted Tower accessible in the middle of February without some epic hike in?

Well, the road is usually fine in Feb., but I don't remember a winter quite like this, so who knows. However, keep in mind that 40s is normally really cold at the Tower, especially if it is windy (usually is that time of year). Also, pretty much every portion of the crag is shady until at least the late morning when the Southeast side of the Tower proper gets sun. But, if it is in the 50s, sunny, and no wind, you are good to go!

I was bouldering this past Sunday at Monster Island, and there was still a lot of snow around. Even the sunny flats near MI were still covered in several inches of snow. I expect that the road on the tower side of Davenport lookout is going to have DEEP snow on it for some time as it does not see much sun.

That said, temps were fantastic yesterday. Sunny, and no wind.

Bump!

Back road should be thawing out pretty fast now... might be a muddy mess though also. Anyone been up recently?

Go to the Homestead instead. A much better trade off, great camping (warm) climb endless 10s 11s and 12s on the Roughrider in the morning then head to west side of the canyon for Tufas. You will freeze you asses off on long nights at E Tower and the sun doesn't hit the walls til late in the day.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
