Selling everything and hitting the road! Need ideas

So we are selling everything, buying a motorhome and are going to travel the US of A for a year + although we aren't going to start until early summer we are beginning to look at destinations (long and short term). We essentially are going to start from NJ and make our way west to Seattle. Basically do the whole country counter clockwise. We have 2 kids we'll be home schooling so for phys Ed we will go climbing and hiking. I would love to hear ideas. Yes we are going to be stopping at the big name i.e. Yosemite, J tree, but I'm also looking for the unknown places, off the beaten path free of crowds. Also right now my rack consists of doubles of c4s .5-3, c3's hexes nuts and tri's. Question is as I head out west are the fist size cams necessary? Meaning should I get them before we go? In doubles? I realize it's a loaded and general question. Thanks all!

With a how long RV? This answer will affect my answer. So will, "are you pulling a run-around auto.?" Without that info the best I can say is that you must drive the RV on the gravel road around Valley of the Gods, UT and camp there. It is a great place!

Mark, one less traveled place you might think about is The Needles in Custer state park, South Dakota - it's right close to Mount Rushmore and Devil's Tower, and it's like one big playground of really neat rock, kids would love it. Summer is a good season there

In most areas, you can get by with a single #4 and nothing bigger - of course more is always better

We Will be carrying a Subaru outback with us. It's going to be a 37 to 40 foot motorhome. One of our definite stops is going to be Mount Rushmore so I'm glad to see good areas around there.

If you're headed through northern Idaho, Q'emiln Park is a good stop--short walk-in, quiet, easily accessible anchors, right off the hwy. Not a destination crag by any means, but the rock is good and the routes are fun; I climbed alone, but it is definitely family friendly.

OK...take the RV & subaru to Pine Lake CG UT. From here you can fish, hike, boulder, climb in some really good spots. Bryce Canyon NP is 30 min.s away, and kid friendly crag at the Jungle is 15 min.s away mountainproject.com/v/jungl…

There are also some kid friendly but great slots in the Grand Staircase Escalante Nat. Mon. only an hr. away, eg. Willis Creek Slot

Great stuff thank you! I'm putting the list together. I wish I can say that I'll be able to do this without a job but alas there are still no free lunches. I'll be based at different places which will allow me to do this.
