There was an interesting gadget at CES 2016 this year in Eureka Park:

Roflmao. Great so now we are going to have an app that is telling you to flag during that one move you screwed up on???

What a joke.

I guess people do pay twice as much for smart water just because it says smart on it so I am sure they can make some money.

So its like a Strava for climbing ....but you have to have that additional gadget? lol..... I tried to google "The Whipper CES" (since the website doesn't really tell you what it does and or it does it ) and this post and the identical one you made on supertopo are the top two results.

Most folks don't know how to flag; it could be helpful for new climbers.
There is a youtube video from a french blog on this too if you search for it.

Are there no climbers on here anymore? Is it just spam?

Sorry, but Strava for climbing sounds pretty cool to me, I'm not sure if there a legitimate way to actually track vertical feet accurately though but the idea of tracking vertical feet is a cool idea, especially for those road trips where people often try to climb more vertical feet than miles traveled.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
