Don't buy from 123Mountain.com

I ordered two yellow Totems from MG during that sale. After a few weeks they didn't show so I called them. I was told they were back ordered and that they would ship them out as soon as they got them in stock.
No problems. I always have had a good experience with MP.

I bought a set of Totems that were 25% off from Mountian Gear and received them. I didn't have any problems. Shipping took longer than say Backcountry.com but nothing to stress about.

All my dealings with Mountain Gear over the last couple decades have been hugely positive. Gear always arrives when they say it will and they offer some of the best deals I have found.

This is a thread about 123Mountain

NOT MountainGear

Let's keep it on topic and about the correct (awful) "company"

Mountain Gear is great. Don't muddy their name. This is about 123SCAM!

I ordered a full set and I had the exact same experience as Bill.

called in, sounds like the same male owner w/ accent answered. asked to speak to the owner, he said no. I asked again, nope. Asked to speak to the manager on shift and he garggled something I couldnt make out then hung up. expected, uneventful, kind of intrigued. hate it.

Its just amazing how a company like this can still be in business. These people sound like they should be in jail

Sure would be nice if the state of colorado would step in and shut them down... but i have no clue how that stuff works or if thats even possible

People need file complaints. The more the better consumer.ftc.gov/media/vide…

in Colorado coloradoattorneygeneral.gov…

Also, if their vendors were contacted about it they would have some explaining to do if the vendors are at all reputable. Contact the companies who make the gear they sell. I doubt they would want to be associated with them.

I'd like to hear from the guys on that thread if they have got their orders.. Didn't bother to check the site feedback before ordering. Well I haven't got them or an email, it's been a month, they've hung up on me when I've called twice. Saying my phone was scratchy.
I'm sure you've already called them but do it again. I've bought alot from there and they are always good. The guy even sponsors the red rock rendezvous.

Please, we are doing Moutain Gear a major disservice even discussing them on the same foroum as 123Mountain

Mountain Gear is a legitimate business and does not deserve to be associated in any way with 123Mountain

Man, now I feel like I scored a major coup on 123mountain; I ordered some tech inserts for my Tecnica ski boots and actually got them quickly and for a low price! That was last year and I never thought to check the ratings. Thanks for posting.

All I said was "Can I speak to the owner?" Classic. I think im gonna call back later. To the people who got screwed call this clown (copper location was the only one who answered their phone) Warning: This guy is a nut.

Let the trolling begin. I just started a chat and told them that one of their stock photos from the website was me and that I never released photo rights for them to use it.

Their response:
Peggy: "This chat for client and client only."

I responded and asked them who developed their website.

Peggy: "If you have problem with our site you need talk to website developer"

Me: "Ok, who devel..."

Notice: "This chat has ended."

Nice.. classy stuff right there. lol

I started a chat - Peggy once again replied - and supplied a link to this thread suggesting they read it.

"Peggy's" response: I'm not interested. This chat has ended.

Dear Peggy (aka: 123ScamMountain employee/owner),
Congratulations on your business venture into Internet retail (theft/fraud, in your case). I regret to inform you, however, that you have made a poor selection in target customer base. You see, although we may berate and chastise each other at every given opportunity and flame one another into complete submission on a daily basis we do communicate; and we do it well. Had you scammed one of us, it would have led to us eventually learning to stay clear. However, the fact that you have scammed several trusting patrons of our glorious pastime will most certainly lead to your ultimate demise as a company.

Still reading? Impressive.. my recommendation: make amends with all you have wronged. Start with the first and go down the list. If you can't do that my recommendation: liquidate now, roll up shop and find a new group of suckers to target.

Before doing that, though.. I recommend some light reading to save you the hassle of starting yet again after that one fails:
