Gravity Vault in Poughkeepsie, NY

Hey all

Was wondering if anyone had any details about gravity vault opening a location in Poughkeepsie, NY?

All they have on the website is coming soon.

First I've heard of it. We've never had a real gym on "this side of the river". So I'm excited.

I tried to look this up and couldn't find an opening date. Looks pretty sweet though.

I know someone who did some probing but apparently they havent even applied for the permits from the town yet to start building. So I have no idea what the deal is.

I was at the gym nj and saw the flyer. I asked and all the guy behind the counter said is they possibly have a location and it will open 2015. I'm hoping they get it figured out soon

I spoke with one of the owners yesterday at Gravity Vault, Chatham.
Yesterday being 7/13/2015.
He confirmed that a Poughkeepsie Gravity Vault will open in late 2015 or the first quarter of 2016. They have secured a building for the gym. They are now going thru the permit and wall building process

The information you received regarding opening late 2015 ~ early 2016 is accurate. As you can imagine building a world class climbing gym takes some time but we think you will be very happy with the results. Hey there!

I'm looking for lead partners, go usually around 4/5p on the weekdays but have flexible schedule. HMU if anyone wants to meet up to trade belays.

If you haven't been yet the routes there are great, especially the steep lead walls/roofs make for some really ridiculous acrobats, feels almost like climbing in the Gunks!
