RESPONSE NEEDED! What to climb and what to bring for Norway

Going to be traveling with the family this winter to Scandinavia, however we will be spending most of the time in Norway. I've set aside some dates to get on some ice with a guide, as I have only done a handful of ice climbs, none of which were waterfall ice. We will be driving all around the country, and I am just wondering what I should bring. My brother and father are weekend warrior climbers, and I am a decent climber up to 5.10 both sport and trad. Why I ask is I do not want to be driving, looking out the window, and seeing a line that I could solo with just my axe/tools and boots. Also, are there any ridges I could climb alpine style? To summarize, I'm contemplating bringing a light alpine rack, my axe/tools, and crampons. NEED A RESPONSE SOON!

Make sure you go to Rjukan, stay at the Old School Hostel, and bring standard ice climbing gear, including screws if you plan to lead. There are multi-pitch, single-pitch and mixed routes. There's a decent area for top roping as well.

Bring lots and lots of money - I lived there for two years and it's the most expensive place I have been to! (pack some pasta, pasta sauce, mac n cheese etc).

Depending on what part of Norway you're going to there are several options. An area which is super accessible (very short approaches) and tons of ice in the sun (unlike dark Rjukan) is Gol. Its about a 2-3 hour drive from Oslo.

If you're going to be in Stavanger there's lots of ice near Sirdal but that depends on the weather. The best ice routes are of course in the northern part of the country (Lofoten etc).
