Why not a 4chan-style arrangement for the forum?

If you've never been to 4chan, it uses a thread cap to delete any stagnant or "dead" threads while moving the most recently active threads to the top. |

boards.4chan.org/asp/thread…
here's an example of how a different website works, I mean, it just makes my brain hurt less when I can go on the internet and escape the tribalism and democratically elected tyrants that want to limit my freedom of speech to (press here for yes) or (press here for no) |

I don't know if i can handle the pedophilia and homoerotic tension. it also might also chase away the last of the female climbers and we could all be on supertaco or RC.com complaining about the sausage festival that our sport is. |

Basically, you comment in a thread to move it back to the front page and there is a finite number of comments possible in each thread before the thread is archived and is removed. MP.com would benefit SO much from this. Especially considering people talk about current events and this format would keep the most current and discussed events are the top! the best part is, a group of hipsters can't come in and vote that you stfu and gtfo, tits and all. the 4chan forum boards.4chan.org/asp/ is becoming much more useful than the MP forum for these reasons, despite the fact that they're always talking about chicks and posting pictures of themTotally disagree. It would artificially limit even the good discussions and force the creation of multiple threads on a single topic, furthering fragmentation. It's already a PITA to follow multiple related threads - this would make it even worse. |
