I really need a place to live in Chamonix this winter. I will be in Chamonix sometime between Dec 15 and early Jan. I will be staying until spring or mid June at the latest when my visa expires. Does anyone have a spare room, closet, or whatever? I'm having some trouble finding a place for rent. Thank you!

you will have better luck finding a place once you arrive and looking for local postings around town (being able to speak French will help tremendously). in the meantime you can check this website to research different possibilities on long term rentals

chamonix.net/english/accomm…

In the past others have posted Chamonix apartments for rent on this website, which might help on a temporary basis until you find something more permanent.

Have you obtained a visa that lasts that long?

The Schengen short-stay tourist visa limit is 90 days in residence out of 180 days. So if you are in France beyond 90 days, you are in violation...unless you get a longer-term visa.

Good luck!
