Hey folks-

Any suggestions for good crack climbing in WNC? I know about the Cereal Wall at Rumbling. What else am I missing?

Thanks a ton,
Russ

North side of looking glass is the big one your missing. I think the ccc is also working on access to Ghost Town near Rumbling Bald which is supposed to hold the best selection in the state. A few other good cracks are spread around. White lightning at table rock is a good easy to moderate crack climb. Dandy line at the north side of Cedar Rock (morning glory wall?) was also quite fun but stays wet much of the time.

The best cracks in Colorado are in Indian Creek and the best cracks in NC are at the New River Gorge or T-wall.

Thanks everyone. This helped very much in the planning of a trip. I also found an older thread with info.

Question on North Side of Looking Glass- Does it get any sun/warmth? Or will it be frigid this time of year.

It'll be getting pretty cold about now. Bundle up.

It will be cold, but the friction could be great. Low 60's to upper 50's as the high is very tolerable. The wind and ice formation a little later can be problematic. "Project sending conditions".

my 2cents here, hit dandy line if the weather and water permits, it is a super fun crack! most of the other stuff at cedar rock seems to be slabby rumbling bald has a number of cracks in one area that may offer a few more options.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
