I have a hard time believing this is so hard to find.

Okay, you're in the South Platte, you have a lat/lon coord for a crag. I want to enter that lat/lon, and have an app that simply say's "you need to start walking so many degrees from North, and for this distance" to get to the crag.

How difficult can this be? Apparently I have to buy a full blown GPS device to do this.

Oh, and I'm on android.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Given we can't fly...would a heading indicator really be the best fit for this use case? Maps are still king for this kind of application. Unless you're asking for turn-by-turn hiking navigation to a crag.

Of course the MP mobile app does this for the areas where we know the location (about 70% of areas)...

If you come across an area on MP where we don't know the location, please add it! There's a button on such area pages that says "Know the location? Tell us."

I love locus map pro. Download the offline map for your state if you're in an area without signal.

You can add a waypoint for where you want to go and use the map to navigate there.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to check them all out!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
