Climbing Instructor Level I & II Training
|
In the Utah National Parks Council (and likely other scout councils) every scout group that goes climbing, rappelling (or does something similar) must have at least one Level II instructor and at least one other Level I or Level II instructor. Otherwise the BSA's insurance policy will NOT cover you. |

You should be paying people to take the course since they will have to put up with taking scouts climbing. |

I paid $500 to go to National Camp School for a week to become a Climbing Director. Add in the $670 in air fair to get to Camp School and it was about the most expensive way to go. |

Bump for the Boy Scouts. Glad to see they're requiring some training to take scouts climbing. Good organization and I have good memories of being a Boy Scout (I wonder how many people will chime in here to criticize and insult them) |

I got my climbing start in 1994 with the BSA. Its been over 20 years, I've climbed a ton of mountains, a ton of rock, a ton ice, and in a good many places. I've met a ton of good people. |

Thanks all for your interest in this course. The registration is now closed (the first session was last night). A full class is 16 participants and 25 showed up! The instruction requires a 4-to-1 participant to instructor ratio, so they had to scramble to add more instructors to accommodate everyone, but they did it. I'm looking forward to a great course. |
