Wondering if anyone has used these boots, or has experience with getting the right size for them. I just bought a pair from a friend almost brand new, they fit pretty well but still not completely sure if its the right size. First pair of mountaineering boots i have ever owned. Anyone have any tips on sizing these or how much room i should have in the toes? also i know for ice climbing the boots need to be stiff, but is it normal to have a very tiny amount of flex when putting all your weight on the ends of the boots?

I had a pair and used them for ice climbing (single pitch short approaches) and really liked them. Switching the cam between walking and climbing was a nic feature that was more than just the gimmick I assumed it would be. The issue I ran into was when I started doing 14ers in the winter in CO and my toes froze. I realized after that trip that I had gotten too small of a size. Just not quite enough room in the toe box. I really like the boots though and if you get the right size I would think you will them too.

I pretty much use size 13 in every winter/ ice boot I have- salomon guide 9s - koflach verticals- koflach artic. that's snug but with enough room for linners and mid weight sock.
I went to a size 13 in the salewa pro but had to get the wide for the toe box to feel just right. the reg 13 felt a easy 1/2 size to small. good luck-
