Hello well travelled and experienced MPers. I'm taking the lady to see Sedona AZ in a couple weeks and was wondering if a few of you could recommend cool/nice places to stay. I was thinking of Airbnb over a hotel but am open and don't know the town well. Any help would be appreciated. Aside from seeing the canyons what other outdoors (non climbing) activities are with doing. Thanks in advance.

The hiking around Sedona is great! Tons of trails at all levels of difficulty. Visit all four of the (in)famous Energy Vortexes (or is it vortices?). Join (or mock) the new-agers as you see fit.
Due to its proximity to Phoenix and even LA for that matter...Sedona is a pricey resort town of sorts. I have only ever camped in or near Sedona but would imagine AirBnb is the way to go for sure.
I normally recommend Devils Bridge for a short and interesting hike in a beautiful setting. An unusual, but damn cool place to hang out is the back patio at Oak Creek Brewery, not the full on restaurant location, but the actual brewery at 2050 Yavapai Dr. Unfortunately Simon Hotdogs has moved on to Scottsdale. The fireplace pit out back is a great place to share company, large group or romantic setting. Enjoy your trip, I will be down there myself next week and the colors are amazing in late Oct.
It's not in Sedona(about 35 mins away), but the place is quite unique and beautiful. It's a sustainable, 100% off the grid home high above the town of Clarkdale. Rennie and his wife are super nice and they will make you an amazing breakfast with ingredients picked right from their property. There's even a hot tub near the top of the hillside. Plus the price is really reasonable compared to trying to stay in Sedona.
