Help connecting with climbers for January 2016

Hi
I'll be coming out to Vegas for work the first week of January, and thought it would be worth it to come out a day early to get some climbing in. Since I'll be traveling for work I won't be carrying my own rope/etc.. nor will I have any partners with me.
Can anyone offer suggestions on how to meet up with groups for a day? I heard sometimes you can just meet people in the parking lot at Red Rock to latch on to?
It would be a Saturday and I'd likely be landing in Vegas around 7:30 am and renting a car.

Edit: I'm not sure which parking lot you are referring to, but maybe you mean the campground?

Not really sure. To be honest I don't know anything about Red Rock. I overheard someone say something about it at my climbing gym the other night.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Also, the climbing store in town is Desert Rock Sports.

Instead of waiting in the parking lots in Red Rock I'd do a walk around the campground (right nearby) that morning or evening before and look for climbers who are going craging. Or check the message board there. Would be the most likely scenario for being able to chat climbing with them first and then hopefully tag along / join on a climbing day. Otherwise bouldering at Kraft would be a good backup plan. Almost guaranteed to see other climbers out there or you could easily go alone. You could also rent a pad from DRS. opens at 9am.
