Updated Mastercams?
I recall that the updated Metolius Mastercams were supposed to be released in late summer/early fall? Has that occurred yet? |
Yes it has! It also comes with a price increase... |
It's not often that a company takes a major step backward, but Metolius has accomplished just that with the introduction of the new Mastercams. The lack of a thumb loop will make them unappealing to the majority of trad climbers, and unappealing to 100% of aid climbers. This is one new product that I have zero interest in. |

I just can't believe they haven't gotten into the dual axle game. |
I'm excited for the removal of the thumb loop, never really liked those thumb loops. And they are lighter so thats a win win for me. I hope the 7 and the 8 are not to floppy |

I hope they stay single axle forever, love the action on their cams Dan L. wrote:Yes it has! It also comes with a price increase... -DanThere was no price increase from 00-6 the 7 and the 8 are $5 more |

Personally, I was really hoping Metolius would change the Mastercam trigger assembly. |
At least on the video I saw of the cams, the dyneema sling appears to be stiff enough to be like a thumb loop for trad climbers, but no actual thumb loops sucks for anyone wanting to do aid. |
