NC bachelor party climbing options

A group of 6-8 of us are going to Asheville this weekend for a friend's bachelor party. He and I both climb, but most of the other guys have little to no experience, and probably 2-3 don't have much or any interest in climbing. Can anyone recommend any areas nearby that have a lot to do in the immediate vicinity? I'm trying to help accommodate everyone and give the non-climbers something fun to do that doesn't split our groups up too much.

Looking glass/Cedar Rock areas are known options- the other guys could fish or hike I suppose, but that might be spread out too much. I'm not sure if any other nearby areas would be any better or worse though. Ideally there would be a creek or stream adjacent to the crag- does this exist at Linville? Or anywhere else close by?

Thanks!

Edit:

Climbing-wise: mostly easy trad or <5.12 sport routes, the easier the better (hence hopes for Linville)

You could hit up Rumbling Bald with the climbing crew while others fish/boat/golf at Lake Lure or hike/mtn bike in the surrounding area

The crags in the linville gorge are generally pretty far from river, which is usually a thousand feet and several miles away. Pathertown has cool slabby climbing close to a great river, complete with waterfalls and swimming holes. The problem with P-town is that the style of climbing is hairball slab, and the majority of the routes are serious 5.10 slabby smearing affairs.

Have you considered heading to the New instead?

If it has to be close to the Asheville area, I would probably head to looking glass...

The last climbing bachelor party out here ended up with at least one serious casualty and lots of near misses among the party. Go easy.

If someone doesn't get lost and end up sleeping in the middle of the woods you did something wrong.

Did my bachelor party in Asheville, too. Similar situation, as far as the distribution of climbers/noobs/uninterested. We ended up just going to Looking Glass a day early with the climbers, then met the rest of the group for a weekend of brewery tours.

My experience in NC climbing has been with LG and Linville Gorge, and both of those are fairly climbing-centric. In my opinion, if the non-climbers can't survive with the camping and stellar hiking at Linville, they've got a problem. You can't go wrong with Table Rock - but maybe that's just me.

Rumbling Bald is a great spot, not far from Asheville, in a popular area with other touristy fun options. Bald itself is a short approach, has awesome rock, and lots of moderate-ish options. The guide book just put out will be a great help, compared to the internet.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
