Eagle slide, so easy a dog can climb it. To be fair, he's also climbed the Trap Dike (exit via the old slab), Whiteface #1 and 2, Lake Placid Slide, Huntington Ravine, Kings Ravine, and pretty much every major scramble in the Northeast. <br> <br> I should caution anyone from doing this unless their dog is extremely well trained.

General idea of slab steepness. This isn't a hard climb, but it is 5th class slab steep in places, and fairly sustained. However, there are plenty of lower angle rest spots, and unfortunately, more and more tree islands.
The Grand Range is seen behind you when hiking the trail towards Giant.
Was a cold New Years day in 1976, that the four of us climbed the Giant Slide ...

Almost at the top. Top out into dense trees, and after 100 ft of bush whacking, pop out onto the trail, turn right, and hike down
Somewhere in the middle. This gives you a sense of the small overlaps you must pass.
