Coming to Sedona for spring break, and am looking for some information etc.

Hey, I'll be in the Sedona area for spring break with my girlfriends family, and I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to climb. I'll be flying in from Michigan, and I'm not sure how much gear I'll be able to bring, but I'm going to likely just be TR'ing or bouldering. The problem is, I am having a lot of trouble finding a solid guidebook that has good reviews.

Could some of you help point me in the right direction to a good guidebook and/or where are some easy-to-access climbs/boulders? Also, any recommendation for offwidth/splitters would be great as well.

I realize that a lot of the routes near Sedona are multi pitch, but again, I'm not sure how much gear I can bring, and my girlfriend is a little uncomfortable with multi pitch anyways. So, I was wondering, is there any options for top-roping the first or second pitch of these longer climbs with easy bolt/anchor access? Just a thought!

Thanks,

Chase

Checkout the Overlook at the top of Oak Creek Canyon, lots of good cracks that can be toproped by slinging a tree, just bring lots of webbing/cordage. Often is perfect in the spring, sometimes can be wet or chilly.

Sedona Rocks! by Bloom and Wolfe is for sure the best guidebook out for the Sedona area.

If you are talking about climbing here in March of next year, try Book of Friends, a great offwidth.

I second Sedona Rocks! It's the latest book to hit the shelves and it's chock full of info.

Awesome man! This route looks tough! Are there any top-rope OW's in the area? I, living where I do, don't own any large cams/big bros. Thanks for the info!
