Details
If you are coming up, note the following:
-There are no fires allowed anywhere, including the boulder basin & group campsites.
-Please carpool, parking is limited, so if you show up and there is nowhere reasonable for you to park, you must leave. (instead of parking somewhere unreasonable).
-Bring cash to park, lots of people showing up without cash. Even if you don't camp overnight, you still must pay for day parking.
-Don't climb boulders in/ around occupied camp sites (some say ask, personally I just go somewhere else).
-Spread out a bit.

Description
Driving past the turn for boulder basin you'll happen across a series of large campsites marked by yellow posts. These are the groupsites or rather "yellow post" sites. There is a lot very good bouldering all along these sites including ultra mega classic Soulsnatch!
Important Note:
Camping at these group sites is free and first come first served; however, unlike at boulder basin, there are no bathrooms, and a fire permit is required to use the fire pits. DO NOT MAKE CAMPFIRES OUTSIDE OF THE FIREPITS. During the hot summer months the fire pits will have NO FIRE post in them. Please respect this. Further, in taking care of your bodily functions, remember best outdoor practices and ideally pack everything you bring in out.
Right now there is a good relationship between most climbers and the Idyllwild rangers that oversee the mountain. Let's keep it this way
