Prescott housing nightmare

I am moving to the prescott area July 11th. I have been looking for a place to rent that will take my two dogs (mature boxer and an elderly cocker spaniel) and its been a nightmare. Most places I find that are accepting of my dogs are at least 40-50 min outside prescott.

I know this is a stretch, but I am posting to see if any locals know of anything I could look into that might be out of my zone of head-spinning internet ads.

My wife and I are not picky. We just want a roof over our heads, our pups, and within 20min of Prescott College.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. Maybe we can meet for a beer once I am out there. (first round is on me)

PS really looking forward to being a positive part of the AZ climbing community and just the community in general. Cheers.

I'll chip in here since no one else has yet...

Welcome to Prescott, and PC! Prescott is odd in that it isn't very "connected," to internet I mean. So to actually find a good housing option while out of town is an uphill battle if you don't have good connections already. I would suggest looking up Prescott College Undergraduate Students on Facebook or something and posting on that group for options. That will at least get the word out to the right community.

I would recommend looking for housing outside of the downtown, maybe for at leas the first year. The cheapest houses I can think of for rent would be in the area between Smoke Tree Ln./Willow Creek Rd./Rosser St,Tamarack Ln.

Hope this helps man! PM me if you have any questions about the town.

Cheers,
Mac

Thanks for the reply Mac.

I do not have a Facebook so that may be hard, but that is a great idea.

I am confident things will work out the way they are supposed to. I am just excited to play on granite mtn.
How much more time do you have at PC?

For the record, I did get two PMs on this subject!

Granite Mountain is the THE place to play, no doubt about that. Look forward to seeing you up there this season.

I'm actually just starting out at PC in the Graduate program this fall. I'm glad to hear you got a few PM's out of your post, that's two more than I would have expected! Haha I'm confident something will come up and it'll work out for you too.

Check out country club circle apartments. They are close to the college, and they allow dogs.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
