These were before my time. I was introduced to them by an older climber who had two of them. They seemed good for what they were, and also invaluable on one route in Eldo.
Why are these not produced anymore? Are there safety reasons not to use them? I want to learn more about them, but most information is limited.

Crack n ups sort of evolved into the seam hooking pitons we have today. Moses still makes the excellent Tomahawk that works very well when hand placed. Black Diamond Peckers come in 3 sizes as well. Both these pins have a slight taper and angled surface that is similar in design to the old Crack n up. Vertical Archaeology Crack N Ups
