So I'm heading to Seneca in a few weeks, and looking at the map I have a question. I'll be coming south through PA on I-81. The usual directions I see (and the way I went last time, which was decades ago FWIW) is to get off the interstate at Middletown and take 55 west. But I recall some really slow parts of that drive, and still hear about ludicrously low speed limits through the towns. So, is it better to stay on the interstate longer and get off at Harrisonburg and go into the mtns on Rt 33? I'm sure it's longer miles-wise but much of that will be 75 MPH.
After VA-55 turns onto WV-55 you you go through Wardensville. Stay on the main road and it turns into US-48, the 4 lane super highway. You can go miles without seeing another car sometimes, it's really weird
