So I have a set of grivel picks that based on the thickness of them, are not what comes on the current quantums. Can anyone name and compare the moster picks? From what I've gathered, there are three different ones but can't seem to get basic info on them.
Now I'm slightly confused (and Google isn't helping):
There's the original Monster pick that came on the original Monster.
Then there's the X-monster that comes on the X-monster, Matrix and Quantum. These come in different rear configurations: symmetric hammer, asymmetric hammer (early production), and adze.
Then there is the little pick that goes on the Alp Monster and the other mini racing one. Right?
What is the Q pick? Is it what comes on the Quantum Monster? Pictures make it look identical to the original Monster picks in my basement.
Original Monster and Q Monster look the same, but Q Monster is a thick, burly mixed/comp pick from an older comp tool called Quantum Race. Original Monster is about 3mm thick and Q monster is more like 4.5mm thick and slightly different angle for hooking.
Yes, that little Alp Monster pick also comes on the kids tool/mini speed-race tool called Lil Monster.

Thanks. When I get home next week, I'll have to get a pair of calipers on my Monster picks and see. They sure seem thick!
I've got the quantum race. Its definitely a super thick pick... so must be the q monster. That being said, if anyone has the thinner original monster picks laying around, id be interested in purchasing them.
