Guess what!? CASA is a finalist for this year's Banff Grant!

The Climbing Association of Southern Arizona would be honored to use this award for funding future volunteer efforts like our Mt. Lemmon Adopt a Crag this Saturday at Windy Point!

#VotefortheGoat! -- Thanks for supporting CASA.

How can you help?

Polls close March 13.

Winners will be announced at the Banff Mountain Film Festival on Wednesday, March 18th at the Fox Tucson Theatre. CASA will be there regardless, but we hope you vote for us!

Who we are: CASA is a new local climbing organization that advocates for Southern Arizona climbers through stewardship, education and partnership with land managers.

Wish I could vote in person. I voted on facebook though! Good luck!!!

Thanks, Sean! You can still vote online if you're on Facebook :)

This curious goat actually was a real life goat, by the way, Geir, that happened upon a friend of mine while he was climbing. Trotted over and looked down at the struggling climber as if to say, "Watcha doing?"

Just a little backstory :)

I tried to vote online and it wouldn't let me. Maybe it's my privacy settings?

Lora Durance · · Tucson, AZ · Joined Nov 2013 · Points: 41

Hey Jonas,

Hmmm! You couldn't get to the Summit Hut Facebook voting page? You do have to have a Facebook account. Maybe that's the problem?

I'm posting the non-shortened link, if you want to give it a go :)

Remember, you can vote in Summit Hut every time you visit! Drop in, even if you're just driving by.

CASA wants to buy graffiti removal equipment to clean up Windy Point and the Reddington Pass areas. We have a ton of other projects that are going to require money. We could make great use of this!

Concrats CASA.

Lets use some of that money to redesign the Casa logo. There are no mountain goats anywhere in the state of Arizona, much less in southern Arizona. I mean really??? A mountain goat for a southern AZ climbing organization????

Lora Durance · · Tucson, AZ · Joined Nov 2013 · Points: 41

Hahaha, Jim.

Awww. Don't break it's little heart. Our Goat is -- like so many of our Southern Arizona climbers, like so many of us who come to the desert to wander -- just another transplant who's made a home here.

Godspeed, Goat!

Hahahaha a point for both for clever writing. I love the goat even if he's not from around here. :)

Congradulations all!

Jimbo is CASA getting your goat?

Scott,

I'm a paid member and voted several times.
Being in the biz and working with marketing people all the time I tend to analyze logos a little more closely than most.

A logo is supposed to, in a glance, say who or what an organization is. Mountain goat- Arizona...not so much.

^^^^^^ that photo is great!!!!

Jim you have a good point and I understand your expertise. I also like Lora's take that a lot of us are transplants here. After the clever Vote for the Goat slogan I'm really fond of that photo. :)

Regardless I am totally stoked on CASA and glad to be a part of the team.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
