Greetings all...

I live back and forth between Vegas and the sierra eastside, where sadly, 40 homes were just lost to the recent Round Valley fire near Bishop. My dentist and fellow climber and his family lost almost everything....he has a teenage daughter and a one year old son. Since I'm in town, I wanted to ask if anyone has items they find they don't really use/want/need and could donate....anything from cookware, table/silverware, clothes, shoes, furniture, sheets, blankets, appliances, etc. Appreciate your time on doing this. For many of you who climb and enjoy the mountains there, the area wouldn't be the same if it weren't for the amazing locals that surround and care for the land and its visitors...from teachers, biologists, county employees that maintain the safety for others, fellow climbers and outdoorsmen.... simply, fellow human beings who have lost their homes and everything they own. It's a small way to give back to a place we find so much beauty and recreation in. Please contact me if you have items to donate - I am transporting the items there. If you are unable to, you may also donate at the link below....thanks a ton and climb safe.

Christine, thanks for organizing. When are you planning to go out there next?

FYI,

The Salvation Army and Fairgrounds announced today that due to everyone's generosity they have more material donations than they can deal with right now. They are requesting donations in the form of prepaid gift cards or $$$ through the gofundme page so that people can purchase exactly what they need.

Thanks for anything you can spare. It's been a tough week, but luckily no one was killed, and it's been amazing to see the community pull together to support each other.

Fossana,

Most likely this coming Monday. I spoke with my dentist's receptionist and she stated donations in good condition would be welcomed; she specifically mentioned his teenage daughter and one year old son (clothing/shoes). I understand that that the fairground is full; however, I am certain many people are still missing items they may need for now or in the future.

Thank you for your care! Thanks Todd for the update.
