Description
A monster line just South of Celo. A big day regardless of the conditions you find yourself in.
Location
The huge route seen heading up 1157 towards the Woody Ridge trailhead (See Crescent).
It's best done in considerably snowy conditions to allow for super fun and exposed neve after the ice that avoids A LOT of shwacking.
Park at the Woody Ridge trailhead and begin ascending the logging roads as heading for Crescent. Break left after 15 or so minutes and begin working up Shuford Creek(see Google Maps). Ascend the creek and the mountain to the top of the ice soon after the crux pitch. Taking the right side of the "Y" in snowy conditions is probably the preferred finish.
Once on the ridge find the Black Mountain Crest trail. Head North on the Crest trail until you pick up the Woody Ridge Trail and then back to your vehicle.
