It's like the point of the site was, 'lets do whats been done before...but make it worse. much, much worse.'

Jennifer not everyone shares the same ethics as you and that's ok! For example, I hardly document my FA. When I do document them, it is often with erroneous grades and FA. When I see one of my undocumented first assents appear on MP or RC.com I never say anything. Why? Because climbing FA is badass! You get to explore rock without any prior knowledge and you creep into the unknown. This self discovery really drives my climbing. So, why do I have to be the only person to experience this?

Maybe instead of feeling frustrated that someone took credit for FA just get stoked that the are out there getting after it. Just like you, Matt was trying to discover something and have an experience. Does him claiming the FA of your problems really detract from your climbing that much? Does it really matter?

Just remember: MP is only one way to contribute to the climbing community. I've organized and been part of rock cleaning days (you may not see chalk because people clean their messes), trash pick ups, clearing countless areas, and fundraisers for fallen climbers and their families, to name a few. There are many amazing climbers out there, and basic ethics are followed and taught (sometimes harshly). Please do not assume I am acting selfishly for not previously joining MP.
That's awesome that you are a good member of the climbing community. No one is questioning that. However, both of your posts in this thread were unnecessarily snobby, condescending, and ridiculous.

One only needs to get over oneself.
