Pine Mountain trip, 2/1- 2/5?

Hello,

The dates are not set in stone but I am planning a trip from Berkeley to Pine Mountain down in the Los Padres mountains. I have been there before and it is definitely one of my favorite spots to boulder- mainly because of the seclusion at this time of year. The type of rock is granitic, if I am not mistaken.

I am looking for a few people who want to go down there with me, or want to meet up. I wouldn't call some of the climbs "high balls" but a few extra pads and spotters (and friends!) would make it a much funner trip. If you think you're available during that time and are looking for some adventure, keep reading.

Details:

Drive: About 5 hours

Leaving 2/1, quite early. Arrive before noon on the same day. Will have to backpack pads, food, and the likes for about 5 miles on a decent trail into the backside of Pine Mountain campground. There is actually a stream (or is it a well?) that we can filter water from. All food would be backpack-style camping food.

The plan is simple: pack in, boulder, pack out.

It's a little crazier than just driving to Bishop where there is a grocery store, firewood, bouldering buddies everywhere, and the Mountain Rambler Brewery. I was fortunate enough to grab some crazies to do this with me last time, and I'm hoping to find some people again.

About me:

I'm pretty easy-going. I like to sketch when I'm not climbing. If I can help it, I will sleep outside. I boulder about V3 outside. I promise to catch you if you fall. I have a two-door car but can only fit one other person as my giant pad takes up most of the back.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to message me!

road in is closed in the winter. So unless you want to hike like 10 miles up the mountain with all your gear... go somewhere else.

also the rock is sandstone, nothing like granite. I don't know what granitic is but they have some nice granite-like quartz monzonite in Bishop. Seriously just go to Bishop.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
