Ok, so after moving almost weekly while being on the road for the last 9 months, I have decided that I want to slow down a little for a month. I found myself in Tucson and I think I will stick around for a little. I want to try and immerse myself in the town and community as much as I can for only sticking around for a month so I have some questions:

-Best Coffee/coffee shop
-best places to chill out and maybe meet like minded individuals
-place to see live local music (bluegrass, blues, classic rock, psychedelic rock)
-place to jam/meet musicians (open mic night maybe)
-free camping or place to park van under the radar
-climbing aside from lemmon/cochise/babo (what would i be stupid not to climb while staying in AZ for a month)
-best hiking trails closest to the city
-favorite dog friendly park for slacklining and soaking in the sun
-local market/farmers market/local food
-favorite restaurants
-favorite yoga studio
-where does the counterculture hang out? (hipsters, hippies, punk rockers)

Thank you for any responses. I am new to town so if anyone would like to meet up, coffee is on me! I am also looking for a climbing partner and possibly a room or place to park my van but I am going to start a separate thread for that.

Hike- Romero Pools in Catalina State Park (may be a little crowded near the parking lot but it thins out completely the higher you climb)-The Pools at the top are well worth the journey.

Farmer's Market- Oro Valley Farmers Market at Steam Pump Ranch

I don't live out there but visit my brother sometimes who lives in Oro Valley.

Shot in the dark or epic for coffee/counter culture. 4th ave is hipster enough, especially Che's. Second Saturdays downtown is a fun event downtown, every second saturday of the month, or just go to club congress. Farmers market at St phillips plaza. 6th Ave dog park or Reid park for the dog and slack line. Join the Tucson rock climbers meetup group. El manantial on 36th and park is the best Sonoran hot dog place, or you can't go wrong with guero Canelo, Maico or BKs. Any Mexican place will most likely be the best you've ever had though, especially south of 22nd. Lots of free camping on Lemmon, especially along incinerator ridge road, not much close to town unless you do the Wal mart thing. There's sporadic bouldering, but most climbs (lifetimes upon lifetimes) will be on Lemmon and Cochise. Pick up "Squeezing the Lemmon II" by EFR at summit hut.

If your looking for some one to do the Southeast Arete of Babo with you I'd probably be down on a weekend. 4th ave and Downtown will have most of what you're looking for, culture-wise. Most hikes close to town don't allow dogs, which sucks but there are desert big horn sheep or National park status as the reason (Romero Pools included). Agua Caliente out east is the notable exception as is Madera Canyon to the South. Drive up the Mount Lemmon Highway and everything is open to dogs.
