Hi all. My partner and I recently went to check out the FE Walter Dam area in the Poconos area in Pennsylvania. We were using Rob Holzman's guidebook as a reference, but we still had a hell of a time finding some of the areas (Klittergarden especially).
My question - are there any locals on here that would want to show us around? In a gym, we climb around V5/V6, though that drops considerably outside. Anyway, if there is anyone who wouldn't mind showing us around, that would be great.

I think I did find the Klittergarten a couple of years ago. The way into there was completely overgrown. Didn't look like anybody had climbed there in years before that. Rock looked perhaps interesting, but not very tall (for roped climbing).
I guess I could post GPS lat long coordinates for the Klittergarten rocks + a track for approach, but need to bring serious dealing-with-vegetation tools and work with those before hauling in crash-pads or the weight of roped-climbing gear.
If somebody wants to try roped-climbing or bouldering sometime (mid-week or weekend) on some of the other more accessible rocks around F.E.Walter Dam, send me a PM.

P.S. I also noticed that some of the routes on the Brown Sugar wall by the reservoir had a different count of bolts than in the guidebook. I heard from a local climber a story amusing + sad about how that came to be.
P.P.S. Perhaps you had difficulty finding the Atlantis boulders because they were temporarily mostly under water?
Ken, thanks a lot for the quick reply. So from the sounds of it, it's not too surprising that we couldn't find the Klittergarden area. I figured it might be easier to locate when all of the leaves and foliage have died off.
Anyway, thanks so much for the offer to come out with us. We'll be back up in a few weeks, and I'll definitely shoot you a PM and hopefully we can make the schedules align. Thanks again for the info, this all helps a lot.
Oh, and we did find the Atlantis boulders - the water was super low. Like, really low. The problems we got on were pretty fun but damn, those landings are pretty scary!
