Aren't the ropes in Tenaya Canyon fixed?

wasn't there a fatality down there in the last week or so? It could be related to a rescue or something.

There was a fatality the day before I went. Definitely not related, not a fixed rope.

Why could it not be related? Why is it not a fixed line?
Perhaps you can contact SAR to see if they've left a rope.

People don't just leave ropes accidentally. Of all the gear people accidentally leave, a rope is not one of them.

They might leave a rope if they couldn't get it to pull after rappelling.
