If you still doubt if you can climb 5.13 or 5.14, check this out. It is a video of my friend (Dawei)sending his first 5.14b. If you started climbing in a younger age or earlier than him, if you are taller/skinnier/stronger than him (about 5'5" ~ 5'6"), you should have a chance to redpoint 5.14d if he is able to redpoint 5.14c, right? LOL...

Here's something about him:

Dawei (大魏,David in chinese), heard of a sport called climb for the first time in 2010 when he saw some climbers on the wall. That year, he was 22 years old. He thought that was cool, so experienced once with a climbing club and then made a decision: i want to climb and as good as "those guys". He quitted his regular job and the new amazing journey begins. A year later, he was solid on 5.13s, on the 19th month of his climbing career he bagged his first 14a, on the 25th month this 14b, and a couple of months later, a 14c. On how to be a better climber, he says, "You need a goal, you need to believe you can make it, and then work on it. It never crossed my mind that i can't climb 5.14 from day one. Never give up, nothing is impossible. Find your rhythm and follow that feel, you will improve very fast."

It's 大魏 in Chinese. His full name is 魏广广.

I didn't expect to see chinese in the reply. Yeah, you are right. Just 大魏 pronounces the same as the chinese translation of David.

He's such a diligent and talented climber, always nice, smiling and humble. And his climbing career is definitely one of the most inspiring.

The key is to scream out loud, and then 5.14 becomes a piece a cake, lol
no wonder Adam Ondra is so good on 5.15s.
