Suggestions for Mexico climbing areas?

I'm meeting friends in El Potrero around Xmas but want to see some more of Mexico beforehand. I have plenty of climbing experience, I lead around 5.10a, I do lead trad but am out of practise and am likely to gravitate towards bolts or easy trad. I prefer multipitch. I don't do well on overhanging rock. And if I can't find partners beforehand, I'm going to have to go to crags where there is a reasonable chance of meeting people. Any suggestions of good crags to visit? Also any suggestions of other sites where I can post for partners? I do speak Spanish.

El Potrero Chico- assuming it's still safe in that area *(check first). Was there years ago- amazing multi pitch sport with easy access and size like Yosemite- well not quite but pretty tall aka 15p (100ft each). Plenty of 1 pitch stuff around. I'm not sure about the bouldering there... good luck.

It was just a comment, more aboutsafety in Mexico not really an answer to the "other sites"question. That depends on what type ofclimbing shewants to do.

I'd recommend Guanajuato, Guanajuato first and foremost because it's an amazing city, but also because it has good sport climbing within walking distance of town.

Check out Pena de Bernal in the state of Queretaro - 6-7 pitch routes, 5.8 to 5.10, bolted. Cool village at the base. Also, parque el chico in the state of Hidalgo offers many multipitch lines on conglomerate formations. Did a road trip last winter and it was a blast.

Those sound really good, I'll have a look. Thanks!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
