Don't really have much to add to what's already been posted, but Joshua Tree definitely deserves to be in a top 10 list though. Unique bouldering, some sport, and world class trad

Alright, someone put Leavenworth in there..... So its mandatory that Index makes top 5. Its soooo..... Good, but not really please don't visit its not worth your time, and so many breaking at the parking, all the time. Like 10 a day. Lots of gang violence too.

Zappatista wrote:^^^^what Ryan said. The "unfortunately with Las Vegas as a backdrop" comment was mighty salty. Funny how millions of people come here from around the world to party every month, yet it's sniffed at as an eyesore by people who prefer Afghanistan (the campground) to cheap rooms with showers, epic exotic food options, and more rest day options than you can fit in an updated Frommer's guide. To make more sense, that should have read: "the worst thing about getting rescued off of Epi is the casino scene". Or, "My face got booty sweat all over it at the Spearmint Rhino, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt". When it's more than a 20 minute drive to grab Slurpees from the Velvet parking lot, the terrorists have truly won. Just so you don't lose faith in 'Murica: I spent two weeks in red rocks in January and stayed in a casino/hotel the whole time. Worth it for the buffet alone. On topic (in no particular order): 1) Yosemite 2) The Sierra 3) Moab 4) Bishop (bouldering) 5) Hueco Tanks 6) Eldo 7) RRG 8) Red Rocks .... everywhere else I've been is choss

Have been to most of these places, except Pakistan, which scares the bejesus out of me, and the Passaic River rail road bridge. Hot to go there now. In my experience, Chamonix is on the top of the list. I'd also add Rocky Mt National Park and Cirque of the Towers.
