Description
This is a terrific and fun crag to learn how to lead climb/belay. Hard Rock faces west and south-west, getting good shade in the morning and a lot of sun from the afternoon on.
A stick clip is handy for some of the harder routes
Getting There
At mile marker 12 there is parking for a picnic area on the left (NORTH) side of the road (Little Mill Campground). You'll know it’s right if it has a few parking stalls and an outhouse. This is the ideal place to park. Take the obvious trail heading up canyon (EAST) into the picnic area. Follow this trail all the way up until you hit the crag. Alternatively there is an entrance to the trail from roadside just after the picnic tables end. It’s about 350 feet from previously stated parking. Once the picnic area ends the trail starts heading up towards the crag. The trail is very good and well maintained, if you are on a bad trail, you have gone the wrong way. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the crag from trailhead.
