I've always known of this really overhanging blocky wall but had forgotten about it till today. Area is out towards Juan Thomas East of Albuquerque New Mexico. For local or a better description it is on South 14 just south of the big block climbing area towards the camp grounds. Searching mountain project I found no reference to the area and d not believe it has been climbed. It is on public land so no issues there.
How would one go about scoping the area seeing if it is worth while to climb?

Rodger, Thanks for the reply. I reread my initial question. Think I should clarify.
Area looks fun to climb with a large roof close to ground extending out 12 foot or more. What I'm worried about is starting to climb the area, then a large flake pops off pinning one to the ground. Don't want to be that guy or see any one else get hurt over my failure to scope it right.
Tap the holds, see if they sound hollow. Pull on the holds, see if they flex. If either of these, consider prying them off if you're climbing directly under them. But remember, there are no guarantees, and we all should be responsible for ourselves.

Its close to the temple, and I think the local ethic there is to chip and glue everything to oblivion, and if you dont like the routes you've just made, carry on chipping and glueing until you make something you do.
I am of course being facetious. That limestone is chossy though, climb carefully and clean it to the point where you think its safe.
