Having read previous posts by this "blogger" I suspect him to be a professional troll.

In a world of amateur trolls, a "pro" is much appreciated :P

"...the reality is, it may have taken Adam 20 times to finally learn the moves before he flashed the route."

By this definition, I've flashed way more climbs than I thought. Awesome! ;)

The picture with tick marks makes his troll almost believable.

I wouldn't say "troll" so much as "humourist". Read his sight for climbing stuff like you'd read The Onion for regular news.

Im pretty sure he believes his own BS.

+1, i am not sure given the frame of reference drawn upon. The "trust sponsored climbers" blog post misses a lot of why we give other climbers the credit when they/we claim an ascent.
Or maybe that's just the point. I just don't know what kind of smirk should be on my face when I read any of it...

I think the blogger can't make up his mind if he wants to be a satirist/humourist or a troll, and isn't doing a very good job at either because of it.

The fact I have seen his blog discussed so many times on MP, I think he knows exactly what he is doing.

"First off, I was confused at the title. I didn’t even know until some googling after I watched the movie that the “Eiger” is actually a real mountain!"

I want to be a vertical adventurer!

haha some of the highlights from the comment section:

"Circle ticks are key for dynamic accuracy! I use them as well. I admire the style with which you pursue your vertical dreams."

"Great tick mark photo – also makes it nice for people who climb after you because they know what’s worked already.

When I project, I’d add that screaming is really helpful when you’re at the crux. If the best rock climbers in the world do it, it’s what any aspiring rock climber should be doing."

again are they serious or are they trolling the troll...

oh wait theres more from a different post:
"For those of you still sipping to kool-aid, and happy with the status quo, feel free to stay in your pizza box prisons forever. For the rest of us, let this be a call to arms! Grab your drills, bring you chainsaws, and lets blast Big Willie Style from our boom boxes and get jiggy "

I don't think many of us would even know about that blog if it wasn't for sapiecha. I suspect that sapiecha is the troll and then advertising their site with faux outrage. I'm sorry, but I'm not falling for your click-bate this time.

I've never come off as outraged, I am just a fan...

but if I was Wesley... are any of you available for an interview??

sapiecha Sapiecha · · Unknown Hometown · Joined Sep 2013 · Points: 140

oh and, i do think it's funny... or trolling.. or whatever.. but i guess you haters just want to keep reading blogs on, "best hang board workouts" or "use this 4x4 pyramid system for endurance" blah blah blah... I think climbing needs more Wes's!

matt c. · · Unknown Hometown · Joined Nov 2009 · Points: 155

sapiecha, what do you like about Wes? Do you like how naive or silly he sounds? do like ridiculing him for his ignorance? Not cool. haha

personally, i "I admire the style with which [he]pursue[s] your vertical dreams."

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
