Homestead Road Conditions

Anybody know if the road condition has worsened over winter?

I have a high clearance 4wd, but reports of a dropped axle and tie rod do concern.

Cheers in advance, John.

John, with a high clearance 4wd vehicle and a some 4wd experience your fine. Not sure how someone broke axles or tie rods.

John, I haven't been in since February, but we haven't had very much rain since then. I had no problems using careful driving with my stock Toyota Tacoma 4x4 (with locking rear diff).

Just a word of warning: there are many active bee hives in the Homestead and they get very active in warm temperatures. They've always been hospitable to me, but as it warms up they get a little more aggressive. Be prepared for bees and be smart. Below is a post by Scott McNamara with a link to some great suggestions about climbing around bees.

Hi Eric,

I had forgotten that post (on the Mustang and bees.) Thanks for reminding me.

Seeing it again reminded me of Steve's death, so I just heavily edited it.

Please remember it is deadly serious to climb around Africanized bees!

Thanks for the reply, Scott. I've edited my previous post.
