Never been to the Jungle...but is it really better than the Uintas or top 101 in the country? it seems like there are some wildly differing opinions on the Jungle to qualify for top 101 status.

Wow, pretty impressive list. Acadia is a definite +1. Climbing on the ocean cliffs.

Nobody has mentioned little square ledge north of Cathederal in NH near Mt. Washington.
The quarry near Boston. Graphitee can be beautiful. Again small, but awesome place to climb.
Pilot Mountain State Park NW of Winston-Salem, well organized sport routes. Yonah Mountain just south of Helen, GA (really good Octoberfest). Where the Army Rangers train rock climbing.
Horshoe Canyon, Arkansas and Mt. Magazine State Park (watch out for the hang gliders), AR.
TX was Enchanted Rock, Reimers Ranch, the Greenbelt in Austin, Mineral Wells State Park, and Franklin Mountains State Park outside of El Paso.
Cochise stronghold near Benson, AZ.
Red Rock outside of Vegas. Our first lead climbs....
Moab, UT, climbing plus epic arch rappels.
Provo, UT Rock Canyon.
Grand Canyon, just because you have too.
Many areas near Strawberry, CA, SW of Lake Tahoe, (watch out for open cold shut anchors).
Itty bitty crag parallel to US50 just outside of Carson City. Really small but a good way to kill a lazy day.
Couple of nice areas SW of Missoula, MT near the Lolo Hot Springs.
And what was the name of that park in Post Falls near Coeur d'Alene ID?
And did I see Smith Rock State Park, Terrebonne, OR?

I guess best place to climb is very subjective and will mean many different things to many different people. For us the above list is our best places to climb list because we have climbed at all of them.

if we are hitting at least one in every state, I would say farley for massachusetts..rock quality like mormon but much more to do

Include Canada and Mexico because borders (and the state that enforces them) are contrived bullshit enforced by illegitimate gangs. Call it 101 areas in North America.

I'd add Baboquivari Peak in Arizona to the list. Not just another desert chosspile, it's a pretty unique & unforgettable experience regardless of what level of difficulty route you choose, and there's everything from easy 5th to A5.

Pway could be a contender for bouldering but I wouldn't have it on my list. Since I don't think it is one of the top 10 bouldering areas in NA. Crow and Mormon are local areas, a road tripping climber would be seriously disappointed in them. Really nothing in MA qualifies.

This is a great list. I have a few comments:

First, it you can label the Adirondaks as only one place, surely you can combine the flatirons and eldo. The are right next to each other.

Second, I'd add Suicide Rock to Tahquitz. It seems silly to mention one without the other, especially how many classics are on Suicide.

Lastly i think Rock City, a National Natural Landmark should be added to the list. Why do i think a small little roadside crag should be added to the list? Because the list is 101 areas to visit before you die, its not 101 best climbing areas. To really appreciate good climbing you need to exercise shit. It is like seeing Mr. Bojangles for the first time, it just make everything seem so much better.

Geez! Great undertaking. All of my top areas made the list, though I've scarcely visited 1/3 of areas on the list. Not sure that Crow Hill, MA should make the list...yeah...steeped in history and such, but I have climbed on countless individual crags that far exceed in quality any historical importance of Crow Hill. Okay, howz about a list of runners-up? I love The Waterfall in AZ - pretty nice crag. Great job.

the dacks is pretty broad , I would say poco or the web, or wallface for true adventure. I am a little offended that there is nothing in vt but most vermonters would like to keep it that way but it is between nh and ny so if on a road trip why not? perhaps smugglers notch because it is a cross between rumney and Cannon. certainly more impressive than patuckaway(nh)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
