Playing Doctor

It sucks not knowing what the hell is going on. Especially when it fucks with your daily living. I can totally relate! |

I've had all the typical T-cells and B-cells and whatever else counted. Next week I have a follow up. I'll double check. |

Ask your rheumatologist about high doses of fish oil as a supplement. Like 3 or so grams if memory serves. Also, there are components of one's diet that are thought to affect inflammation although I can't remember the specifics. |
|
I read about that yesterday. Unfortunately, my fairly American diet is pretty high in Omega 6 right now. It seems that you can really cause extra inflammation if you supplement O-3 into a high O-6 diet. One of my many dietary goals is to get the O-3's up and the 6 down so this should be viable once I have a moment or two to do some better meal planning. |

Possibly Crohn's with some opportunism looking at your history, and it seems to be responding to the steroid. Trouble with weight, skin issues, joint pains, and some of the other items you describe, assuming there's something un-related to climbing going on. |

I'm glad to hear you're getting some relief, though I'm sure being on steroids isn't much fun either. |

It might be worth trying an auto-immune diet protocol for a month or two. Some people see major improvements with diet changes, others don't. But the upside can be huge, and the downside is just that it's a bit of extra work cooking and shopping. |

Have your doc check your prostate, make sure he doesn't reach up and grab both of your shoulders during the exam though. |
