Red Arc'teryx bag (48 L), 2 PrimaLoft jackets, 2 sets of approach shoes (with custom orthotics in the 5.10 Guides), some merino T-shirts, 2 rope bags, CU belay glasses, Squamish Select guide book (containing my contact info), my keys (car, house, mail, bike lock) and the rest of my rack that wasn't being used (large cams, biners, slings, etc) were stolen from the ledge above Stefanie's Tears on the Malamute today while my partner and I climbed below. It was taken from a very small ledge beside the rappel station, not visible from the walking path so most likely another climber that knows the area (say it ain't so!) while we were climbing no more than 45 m away. Who ever took it made a point of also taking our shoes, socks, water bottles and smelly T-shirts - have you no shame? On the off chance that someone took it by mistake please message me ASAP. Otherwise, if someone hears of gear like this being sold in Squamish please message me or call the RCMP.

Maybe an overzealous climbing ranger who thought it was unsightly/abandoned?
Pretty weak sauce otherwise...

In very good news, my gear was surrendered to the police. Not sure about what actually happened, but the story is that stupid tourists took it without calling out to us, leaving a note, using the contact info inside my guide book, notifying the park ranger or bothering to call authorities for 2 days. Anyway, all we lost in the end was precious time (my partner is visiting from overseas) and the cost of replacing my locks (keys were in the bag).
Many thanks for your time, thoughts, etc and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
