Add a gym?

Hey, a quick look around the regular routes database area didn't really give me an idea of how to add a gym to the site. Anyone know how I can do that? We've got a new gym in a town here in Alaska that hasn't seen proper indoor climbing for more than a decade, and I'd like to spread the word.

Cold,

I'm not sure exactly what you see.

I type in gyms. Click one. Go to the state. Then I click on "edit" which appears when I hover near the top near "Climbing Gyms".

I get this:

mountainproject.com/scripts…

New Gym
Gym Name:

Phone:

URL:

Full Address:
street, city, state, zip

If you don't get that option, send me the info, and I'll enter it for you.

Worst case scenario, you can send the info to "Feedback"...and eventually one of us may see it and add it. I've added a few gyms from that avenue.

Hmmm, yeah I'm not sure where you're going to get that. What I've tried is going to "Destinations" and clicking "Alaska" which brings me to this page: mountainproject.com/v/alask…

From there I don't see a way to add a gym. I can add an area, but that doesn't seem to be the way to add a gym. The only "gym" text on that page is the other place I have tried, at the bottom of each page of the site, which takes you to this page: mountainproject.com/gyms

When I click Alaska there, it just re-centers the map. I see a list of gyms in Alaska, but I see no way to add a new one.

The link you posted above does take me to a new gym page. Is that particular link tied to a specific area, or is that the link I am looking for?

Thanks!

In the upper right corner of each page, there is a box next to search. This is where I go to search for just about anything. There, I type "gyms". Then, I clicked on any gym. Then I clicked on the "area" page "Climbing Gyms". This brings me to a page with states, provinces, etc. listed. To the right of "887 Indoor Climbing Gyms", I get a red "edit" (if I'm "logged in"), I hover over it and get a "Add a Gym" option. I click on that.

Currently, the gyms are set separate from Alaska's main page and its routes.

This database was originally made to have rock, ice, mixed, aid, and bouldering routes. Gyms were an extra added later. Hence, it is separate for most states. In the CO section (prior to the gyms addition), we added a Indoor Walls section...triggered by a kid being excluded from participating in a family gym day.

The link above allows you to add a gym anywhere, I think.

Okay thanks Leo, I followed that except I did not get the "Edit" option next to "887 Indoor Climbing Gyms", but I was able to add the gym using the link you provided above, and it looks like it worked perfectly. Thanks again!
