Consensus question
I climb a route I grade it. For instance Dominion was originally posted at V2. I grade it V0+ at best. The consensus is V1. On my "tick breakdown" it still appears as V2. |

Right now, that's not a part of the algorithms, though if enough folks add their weight.... |
Exactly, Mr. Paik. Suggested new algorithm: make the first contrbutioist's rating worth about 10 votes; and let it slowly melt away by averaging in votes by others. |
it shouldnt matter if you know how to use the website, its nice to see sometimes what the original grade was |
I think it's fine as is. It already drives me crazy when someone with an ego or agenda changes the rating from the guidebook. |

Northeast Corner of Donald Duck -> 5.6, consensus 5.8-

V-Notch which is AI2-3 is somehow a WI7 on consensus...

Maybe you're freakishly strong, or tall or short or. . . |
The "moderate" routes are sandbagged. The "hard" routes are soft. Gym climbers think 5.9 is 5.13d, and wanna-be's warm up on your project. MP consensus grades are fun, but are often no more accurate than guidebook ratings. I don't see a compelling reason to change the current system. |

If it's graded V6 and I say V4, it's probably V4. If it's graded V6 and I say V8, it's probably V6 |
