I contact Jeremy about this mysterious piton
from Fuzzy Crockpot, Eagle Plume Tower, Valley of the Gods This is part I emailed him: Yes, this is my birdbeak= figure one (in Polish) =jedynka. What I wright before, this is the first polish birdbeak used in Tatra Mountain in late 50 or early 60. I mean this kind of course, not this item. We have at Poland long tradition of hard aid climbing.. This model is virtually unchanged from early years. I believe even the original die may be used for some producer. Polish aid climbers believed this is the first birdbeak at word invented for harder aid. The first traces of using something similar at USA are at list from decade later.
From time to time I meet some news, somebody find precursor of the birdbeak, usually Bridwell’s original. Like from Sea of Dreams, Levy’s post from Jun 21, 2006: supertopo.com/climbing/thre… where 4 years earlier polish team climb the route.
