Grrrrr....WTF?

To the one who took a shit at the base of Calypso in Eldo today--what were you thinking? Do you seriously think that this was acceptable in any way? You had multiple options:

1. Use one of the FREE wag bags that Eldorado Canyon S.P. provides in multiple locations. And pack it out!
2. Make like you are picking up after your dog (at the very least!), although this is not a thorough enough cleanup at the base of one of the most popular routes in the park.
3. Walk FIVE MINUTES down to the outhouse. If you couldn't make it to the outhouse, at least do your business off the trail and away from the climbs.
4. Just crap yourself. At least you would then have something to post on Locker's "Shitting Your Pants While Climbing" thread.

To the party leaving as we got there: Thank you for warning us about it (although we would have figured it out eventually by the smell) and attempting to at least cover it up so that the rope would not get in it, and thank you to my belayer, who had to deal with it longer than I did.

Another option: a cork.

Gawd dam South Dakotan ledge poopers...

That's almost as good as the dog owners that bag their
pooch's poop and then leave it by the trail for someone
else to pick up . .

Alas! Optimism, gloves, and a plastic bag were no match for this steaming tribute to Jackson Pollock. I'll get after it tomorrow with a backpack sprayer and some warm water.

Fuck, that's gross. What's wrong with people?

One of the best things I've seen in a while, Zucco!

Most of the time people do that is when their dog shits in the morning on the way to the crag and so they leave it there to pick up on the way back out instead of carrying it around with them all day. Honestly it's usually better than having a shit bag sitting around all day AT the crag all day, since that thin plastic often doesn't stop the smell from escaping. Similarly, it's left in easy sight instead of hiding it so that they don't forget to pick it up on the way out. I can't imagine anybody that's planning on leaving the dog shit would go to the trouble of even bagging it...

Mike, just one question: Was there a Starbucks napkin with the words "simply delicious" involved?

It happens quite frequently.

I guess given the topic of the current thread I shouldn't be surprised, but if you plan to leave the dog shit behind why on earth would you go to the trouble of bagging it in the first place?

Hard telling really, but my hypothesis is that the people that do this feel they're taking one more step above those that do nothing at all. It therefore satisfies their conscience and they can go about their day guilt free.

Honestly, thats called being a responsible dog owner. If you cant stand the smell, don't bring your dog. What eyesores and nosesores those bags on the side of the trial are. People that leave bags, only to pick them up hours later, are lazy assholes.
