Did anybody have a caving experience on Mt. Lemmon? We found some beta to do easy ones there. Any tips/recommendations would be appreciated!

First rule of caving - don't ask.
Second rule of caving - don't tell.

Sandy good luck on caving beta. Wish I had some info to give you. Don't get to frustrated with responses here , a lot of people can be jerks online. This no beta thing is BS. Good luck.

The only cave I know of is Peppersauce in the north side of the Catalinas. I haven't been there but if you can't get any info PM me and I will see if I can dig up some for you.

Joe, you got to know that caving secrets started long before and will outlast either of us. I dated a pretty serious caver a few lifetimes ago and the rules were strict, like take it to your grave kinda strict.

Seems logical to reach out on the site for anyone willing to disclose. Factor in SoAZ…. where even climbs are often secret and you've got even a bigger problem trying to source info.

And Sandy, are you suggesting I need to hone up on my Trad Skills? Damn…. and we just met ;)

We have not actually met yet...But you do need to ditch those sport and tr pictures and post up some real trad leads if you want my respect.
We got the info on the mentioned cave. It does look rad. I see the point of hush hush about live caves so it does not get vandalized or ruined by some douches. Anyway, cavers are worse than climbers about that. Worse than getting beta about a local ice flow from a colorado springs old timer until it's all hacked up.

Ellenor- if you really want to go caving, contact a local NSS grotto.

Among other reasons, Arizona cavers are secretive because some really magical places have been destroyed. Including a sacrificial cave near Tucson.

You might enjoy caving and cavers. A different personality from climbers. Still a community in the best and worst senses of the word. But you have to prove you belong.

Hehe Susan you don't know the complexity of this but I do like you!
I have met some cavers in West Virginia and in Colorado. Pretty crazy foulk. I also saw some caving movies. They are just as bad if not worse than climbing movies. Anyhow..we are looking forward to some magical places for sure!

So the verdict is to check out peppersause. There is a dive able lake at the end of it supposedly. Did anybody dive there? How do you get your equipment that far?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
