Description Suggest change

Punta Negra is a popular beach destination but there is also a bit of climbing as well. On the main beach there is an easy little crag on the sand that is great for beginners to try out some bouldering. There are also a couple good boulder problems about 100 yards south of that spot in the V1 range. On the other side of the point (to the south) is the real gem, called La Cueva Negra. It is a really good, overhanging V4 inside a cave on the beach. None of these routes require protection other than the sand below and the rock quality is mostly pretty good. There are a few more problem near the cave, on the point, where you may want a pad if you had one, but it’s not really worth it.

Getting There Suggest change

Take a cheap bus and walk to the main beach. See photos.
